Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp reported that Tuesday’s voter turnout numbers exceeded previous records with a whopping 1.28 million Republicans casting their ballots and an additional 740,000 Democrats taking to the polls.
But how did Candler County vote?
Though several of the candidates had dropped out prior to Election Day, several of them still pulled in votes around Candler County. A total of 1,832 Republicans turned out with 554 Democrats.

- Rand Paul – 5 votes (<1%)
- Mike Huckabee – 7 votes (<1%)
- Chris Christie – 2 votes (<1%)
- Carly Fiorina – 2 votes (<1%)
- Lindsay Graham – 2 votes (<1%)
- George Pataki – 0 votes (0%)
- Rick Santorum – 0 votes (0%)
DEMOCRAT
- Hillary Clinton – 434 votes – (78.34%)
- Bernie Sanders – 110 – (19.86%)
- Martin O’Malley – 5 – (.0.90%)
- Michael Steinberg – 5 (.9%)
Of the above totals, 59 Candler County residents voted early by absentee ballot and 1,287 voted early in person. More people voted early than they did on Election Day.
