All Floyd County schools will be open on Monday, August 31, 2020. In addition, all currently quarantined students that who are asymptomatic that were in close contact with the identified student or have a possible COVID-19 exposure have the option of following the new guidelines, effective immediately, students identified as close contacts will have two options:

    • Option 1: Students will be able to attend school provided they are not exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 (completely asymptomatic), have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days, are not currently awaiting COVID-19 test results, have consistently worn a mask or face covering while at school, and if a family member living in their household has not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days. Such students must wear masks and temperatures will be taken daily.

    • Option 2: Students may quarantine in compliance with DPH guidelines. If you’re choosing this option for your child, they should quarantine at home except in case of an emergency or to be tested for COVID-19. Reach out to your teachers regarding assignments and timelines for making up work.

  • These parents will receive a Blackboard call and email requesting them to choose an option for their child before the next school day.
