At 13-0 overall, and 7-0 in region play, the Calhoun Yellow Jackets boys basketball team is now ranked No. 1 statewide in AAA.
MaxPreps has the Jackets ranked 37th overall in Georgia, regardless of classification.
CHS picked up a couple of area tournament wins in December, winning the annual Holiday Tournament in Rome, and the Lake City Classic Tournament in Acworth.
Under the direction of Coach Vince Layson, the Jackets are 66-13-0 since the 2012-13 season, and have dominated opponents so far this season. The closest outcome thus far was an eight point (60-52) win over Coahulla Creek earlier this month.
