Three-run ninth inning lifts Hickory past Rome 8-5

A big ninth inning gave the Hickory Crawdads an 8-5 win over the Rome Braves on Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium. Rome got off to a good start early, scoring all of its five runs in the first three innings, while starter Touki Toussaint held Hickory scoreless. Toussaint would go five innings, giving up only one run on two hits, striking out four.

The bullpen would be the problem late, including Atlanta reliever Eric O’Flaherty who was credited with a blown save.  Josh Graham would take the loss in the contest.

For the offense, Alejandro Salazar went three-for-three in the game with a run.  Justin Ellison went two-for-four with a run.
