Gordon Central Coach TJ Hamilton had something special planned for the team manager on Senior night. Hamilton told AllOnGeorgia he had decided he wanted to do something special for manager, Jesse Walters weeks ago. Walters has been the Warriors manager for the last five years and is easily the school’s biggest fan.
“After our win over Armuchee, Jesse baked us a cake and brownies and brought it in, that’s what kind of kid he is,” Hamilton said. Senior night, Gordon Central head coach TJ Hamilton and the team would give back to the young man who had given so much to the team.
At halftime the team surprised Jesse in the locker room and told him to suit up against Rockmart High School. His reaction and celebration with his teammates was amazing.

Walters wouldn’t just have the chance to stand on the sidelines in uniform, he would play against Rockmart. Walters entered the game in the fourth quarter and scored a 75-yard touchdown for the Warriors, the only touchdown Gordon Central had in the game.
Coach Hamilton said he had originally planned for Jesse to run on the other side of the field, but said Jesse called back to him, “I got this coach.”

“The pure joy on his face and excitement that he showed has made this season the absolute best season in my 12 years of coaching. We all love Jesse and he deserves the support and praise that he is receiving at this time,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton said Jesse was a member of the track team and that he is always determined to beat his records every time he steps on to the track. “He loves to compete and will challenge anyone to a game of basketball, football or a race on the track at anytime,” Hamilton said.
“I am so excited that Jesse is getting the recognition he deserves,” Hamilton said.
At the end of the game Jesse shouted continuously, “tonight is my favorite!”
