Arias leads Augusta to 8-3 win over Rome

Junior Arias hit a run-scoring double in the sixth inning, leading the Augusta GreenJackets to an 8-3 win over the Rome Braves on Sunday. The double by Arias started the scoring in a three-run inning and cut the Rome lead to 3-2. Later in the inning, Augusta tied the game when Kelvin Beltre scored on a ground out and then took the lead when John Polonius hit an RBI single.

Starter Domenic Mazza (8-3) got the win while Grayson Jones (2-2) took the loss in relief in the South Atlantic League game.

Ronald Acuna singled three times, also stealing a base for the Braves.

With the win, Augusta improved to 14-7 against Rome this season.
