Claxton City Council to discuss millage rate, water fee increase at Tuesday’s meeting

The Claxton City Council will hold its regularly scheduled council meeting on Tuesday, September 6th instead of Monday, September 5th due to the Labor Day Holiday.


The Council will meet at City Hall at 6:00 P.M.

Matters of discussion include the water & sewer fee increases, setting of the millage rate for the 2016 taxes, comments from City auditor Richard Deal, a vote on whether to authorize the implementation of new financial software, alterations to the City of Claxton’s retirement plan for employees, and the acceptance of a letter of retirement from a city employee.
