Absentee by mail ballots must be returned to the Registrars Office by 7 pm tomorrow (June 9) unless the voter was issued a ballot under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act.  There are only six voters in Chattooga County who were issued a ballot under that Act.  Their ballots must be postmarked by June 9 and received by June 12.

Voters need to have government issued photo ID. Their IDs must be unexpired unless it is a Georgia Driver’s License.

If anyone has a voted absentee by mail ballot, it needs to be returned to the Registrars Office and not the closest precinct.  It will not count if it is not returned to the Registrars Office prior to 7 pm and the precincts will not bring anything back until after that time.

If you have any other questions you can call the Registrars Office at 706-857-0739, or you may also email at chattoogaregistrar@gmail.com.
