Here’s what to expect on Election Day according to the Chattooga County Registrars Office.
Face masks and gloves are not required, but voters may wear them if they like.
Alpine and Cloudland precincts will vote at the Menlo School Gym.
Coldwater, Dirtseller, Lyerly, and Seminole precincts will vote at the Lyerly School Gym.
Pennville, Teloga, and Trion precincts will vote at the Trion Middle School Gym.
Subligna precinct is now at Subligna Baptist Church.
All of those will remain open until 8 pm.
Summerville precinct is still at the Chattooga County Civic Center, Dirttown is still at the Gore Fire Department, and Haywood is still at Ebenezer Baptist Church. All three of those will remain open until 7 pm.
All precincts open at 7 am.
Voters who are registered inside the Summerville City limits will need to go to Summerville City Hall to vote for city council.
Absentee by mail ballots must be returned to the Registrars Office by 7 pm tomorrow (June 9) unless the voter was issued a ballot under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act. There are only six voters in Chattooga County who were issued a ballot under that Act. Their ballots must be postmarked by June 9 and received by June 12.
Voters need to have government issued photo ID. Their IDs must be unexpired unless it is a Georgia Driver’s License.
If anyone has a voted absentee by mail ballot, it needs to be returned to the Registrars Office and not the closest precinct. It will not count if it is not returned to the Registrars Office prior to 7 pm and the precincts will not bring anything back until after that time.
