Drug Task Force bust nets $70,000 worth of narcotics

Agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force worked around the clock to dismantle a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating in Chattooga, Walker, and Catoosa Counties.

On Thursday, August 25th, Lafayette Police Department conducted a traffic investigation around 10:00 P.M. The investigation yielded approximately two (2) ounces of ‘ICE’ Methamphetamine. The investigation was turned over to the Drug Task Force, and two (2) individuals were arrested. They are identified as Paul Dewayne Warren, w/m, 45 years old, of 598 N. Ridge Estates, Trion, GA, and Courtney Dawn Schrimpsher, w/f, 25 years old, of 210 Champ Lane, Lafayette, GA, each charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine.

The traffic investigation led agents to conduct a follow-up investigation at 687 N. Ridge Estates, Trion, Chattooga County, GA. With the assistance of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department, agents with the DTF located approximately two (2) additional ounces of ‘ICE’ Methamphetamine, and a small amount of marijuana. This led to the arrest of Kenneth Lee Scholtz, w/m, 47 years old, of 687 N. Ridge Estates for Trafficking Methamphetamine and various other charges. Kenneth Loren Scholtz, w/m, 18 years old, of 259 Lorelei Farm Rd, Trion, GA, was charged with Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor).

Evidence obtained at 687 N. Ridge Estates led agents to secure a search warrant for Brothers Wholesalers, located at 400 Direct Connection Dr., Rossville, Catoosa County, GA. With the assistance of the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department, and Fort Oglethorpe Police Department, agents executed the search warrant at approximately 4:00 A.M. on Friday, August 26th. The search warrant yielded approximately one and a half (1 ½) pounds of suspected ‘ICE’ Methamphetamine.

An additional follow-up investigation was conducted at 544 French St, Rossville, Catoosa County, GA. Agents discovered a small amount of ‘ICE’ Methamphetamine, as well as Sch. IV Prescription Narcotics (Alprazolam). Amber Michelle Melville, w/f, 33 years old, of 3613 12th Ave., Chattanooga, TN, charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Sch. IV. Jessie Samuel Simpson, w/m, 44 years old, of 925 Hulana St, Rossville, GA, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
Agents returned to 400 Direct Connection Dr. later on the afternoon of August 26th, and served an arrest warrant for Carol Dawn Stoner, w/f, 41 years old, of 18 Walters Lane, Rossville, GA. Stoner was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine.

Total street value of the narcotics seized exceeds $70,000. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are pending.
