The Braves got behind big early in Saturday night’s game versus Greensboro, but the bats never quit chipping away at the lead, giving Rome the loss 10-7.
A tough outing by starter Ricardo Sanchez (3-5) put Rome behind early, giving up five runs on five hits in only 2.2 innings of work.
The Braves fought back with a six-run fifth inning, bringing Rome to within one, but an Austin Riley error in the sixth inning led to the Grasshoppers picking up three runs. Greensboro picked up another run in the eighth, and Rome couldn’t quite finish the rally.
