Anthony Concepcion hit a run-scoring single in the eighth inning to give the Rome Braves a 2-1 win over the Kannapolis Intimidators on Tuesday.
Derian Cruz scored on the play after he led off the inning with a single and advanced to third on a single by Cristian Pache.
Thomas Burrows struck Antonio Rodriguez out with a runner on third to end the game for his first save of the season.
In the top of the third, Rome grabbed the lead on a triple by Pache that scored Marcus Mooney. Kannapolis answered in the sixth inning when Jameson Fisher hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Grant Massey.
Oriel L Caicedo (1-0) got the win in relief while Danny Dopico (0-2) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
Fisher singled twice, also stealing a base for the Intimidators.
