Rasbury defeats Silvers in GOP primary runoff for Chief Magistrate

The Republican Primary runoff election for the Chief Magistrate position in Gordon County came to a close Tuesday night as Pat Rasbury defeated incumbent Ricky Silvers with just over 58 percent of the vote. A total of 2,356 voters decided the race to decide the Republican nominee. Rasbury carried 58.47 percent, while Silvers received 41.53 percent of the votes.

A total of 2,356 voters decided the race to decide the Republican nominee.  Rasbury carried 58.47 percent, while Silvers received 41.53 percent of the votes.
Silvers had the highest percentage of votes in the three-way general election at 44.81 percent to Rasbury’s 34.14 percent.  Larry Bain rounded out the votes at 21.05 percent, but 50 percent or more is needed to outright win a race between three or more candidates, pushing Tuesday’s runoff.
