Patty scored 17 points against Coosa, propelling the Bulldogs to the Region Championship game tomorrow night!

“Making it to the Region Championship is a huge accomplishment for me personally and especially for my team as well,” Patty said. “It is something we have been working extremely hard for and to see all that hard work pay off is extremely rewarding.”

Bulldog Head Coach John Cornett commends Greyson’s leadership, consistency, and infectious positivity.

“Greyson has been our leader this season,” Coach Cornett said. “He has been consistent every game in guarding most team’s best player.  He’s had several games being our leading scorer, too.  His positivity is what has been the most contagious to his teammates.”

Before games, Patty listens to music and joins his teammates for pregame warmups. He attributes recent accomplishments not only to personal effort but to the collective hard work of the team.

Despite being a relatively new team, Patty and his teammates share a special bond forged through hard work and selfless play. “Our team is special because of how hard we work and how selfless we play. We all play for each other and,  I think that is the most important part of our success thus far, and that is especially impressive because a majority of us have never played together up until last year,” Patty said.

Patty said his favorite basketball memory “is not necessarily a basketball memory but a good memory with the team, is when we all went camping and rafting over the summer.”

“I think a good leader pushes everyone around them to be better and also makes everyone around them better on the court,” Patty said. “Some qualities of a good basketball coach, I believe, is that he will push his players beyond what they think they can do, and to teach their players to be not only better players but better people, and to prepare them for the future.”

Academically, Patty maintains a 3.6 GPA. His favorite class is computer science, and his favorite teacher is Coach Cornett.

With aspirations to travel and make a difference, Patty looks up to his mother as his role model. “My role model is my Mother because she has always set an amazing example on how to treat others, and she has always just taught me the right way to act towards others.”

In addition to basketball, Patty showcases his talent on the tennis court.

Patty would proudly display his team’s faces if given a billboard, proclaiming them as “Future State Champions, Trion Men’s Basketball Team.”
