NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The Chattooga County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2023 millage rate which will require an increase in property tax by 15.52 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Chattooga County Education Center located at 206 Penn Street Summerville GA on 11/16/2023 at 8:00am and 5:30pm.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 10.898 mills, an increase of 1.464 mills.  Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 9.434 mills.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $70.27 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $75,000 is approximately $43.92.
