Congressman Fuller Urges Federal Action to Secure Clean Drinking Water in Northwest Georgia

Congressman Fuller highlighted the urgent public health and infrastructure challenges facing Northwest Georgia

This week, Congressman Fuller highlighted the urgent public health and infrastructure challenges facing Northwest Georgia by sending letters to members of the Appropriations Committee urging enhanced federal funding to address PFAS contamination in local drinking water systems.

In a letter to Representative Mike Simpson, Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies, Congressman Fuller emphasized the need for sustained investment in water treatment infrastructure, including support for a major project in the City of Summerville.

“Clean drinking water is a basic expectation that every Northwest Georgian should be able to count on. The high levels of contamination found in our drinking water are completely unacceptable. My team and I have been fighting alongside our colleagues on the Appropriations Committee to secure the funding needed to eliminate these harmful forever chemicals from our communities. As a cancer survivor myself, this fight is deeply personal. I will not back down until every family in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District has access to clean, safe drinking water,” said Congressman Fuller.

Congressman Fuller remains committed to working at the federal, state, and local levels to deliver long-term solutions that protect public health and ensure every family in Northwest Georgia has access to clean, safe drinking water.
