If you grew up eating pizza under stained-glass lamps and sipping from those iconic red cups, get ready for a serious wave of nostalgia — because Pizza Hut is rolling back the clock, and Georgia is getting a big slice of it.
The chain’s “Pizza Hut Classic” concept is sweeping the country, bringing back the warm, dine-in atmosphere that so many families associate with Friday nights in the ’80s and ’90s. Think checkerboard tabletops, vinyl booths, Tiffany-style pendant lamps, and that unmistakable red roof silhouette. It’s not a throwback gimmick — it’s a full recommitment to the sit-down experience that made Pizza Hut a household name.
According to Yum! Brands, Pizza Hut’s parent company, there are now 155 retro-style locations operating across 27 states. Georgia holds 10 of those spots, scattered across some of the state’s most beloved small towns and mountain communities. You can find the full list of participating locations on Yum! Brands’ website.
Georgia’s “Pizza Hut Classic” Locations:
- Blue Ridge — East 1st Street
- Clayton — Highway 441
- Cornelia — 441 Bypass
- Dahlonega — South Chestatee
- Eatonton — South Oak Street
- Greensboro — South Main Street
- Jasper — West Church Street
- Lavonia — Jones Street
- Newnan — Jefferson Street
- Royston — Franklin Springs Circle
Notice anything? Most of these are in North Georgia’s mountain corridor and smaller communities — places where the family diner culture never really went away. That tracks with the spirit of the whole initiative. Franchise operators behind the remodels say the goal is simple: get families back around a table together, away from the delivery app and the couch.
The buzz has already hit social media in a big way. Stephanie Stuckey, CEO of Georgia-born Stuckey’s, shared photos from the Dahlonega location back in 2024, and Discover Dahlonega posted a video tour that made the rounds online.
Beyond the décor, Pizza Hut is doubling down on what made it great in the first place. The chain recently launched its Crispy Parm Pan Pizza — parmesan baked into the outer crust, layered cheese throughout — as part of its “Hut Crust” campaign honoring the original pan pizza recipe that debuted in 1980. And yes, the BOOK IT! reading rewards program for kids, which Pizza Hut launched in 1984, is getting renewed attention too.
Founded in Wichita, Kansas in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney, Pizza Hut has grown to more than 16,000 restaurants worldwide. But for a lot of Georgians, the appeal isn’t the global footprint — it’s the memory of a specific booth, a specific lamp, and a pepperoni pizza that felt like a celebration.
If you’re near any of the 10 Georgia locations, it might be worth a visit. Some things are worth slowing down for.
