Riley’s homer leads Rome to 4-2 win over Asheville

Austin Riley hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning, leading the Rome Braves to a 4-2 win over the Asheville Tourists on Sunday. Devan Watts struck Chris Keck out with a runner on second to end the game for his seventh save of the season.

The home run by Riley, part of a four-run inning, tied the game 2-2 before Carlos Castro hit a two-run home run later in the inning.

Asheville went up by two after Brendan Rodgers hit an RBI single in the first inning and Carlos Herrera hit a solo home run in the eighth.

Starter Kolby Allard (3-3) got the win while Alexander Guillen (3-1) took the loss in relief in the South Atlantic League game.

For the Tourists, Herrera homered and doubled, scoring two runs.
