Four Rome pitchers combine for 3-0 shutout of Columbia

Pitching was the name of the game Friday night as the Rome Braves took on the Columbia Fireflies on to start a four game road series. Max Fried started the game, throwing two scoreless innings, but it would be Oriel Caicedo’s five shutout innings to earn the win. It was his second win on the season. Caicedo gave up only three hits in those five innings, striking out seven with no walks.

Dalton Geekie, and Josh Graham each threw another scoreless inning each, giving the Braves a 3-0 shutout win over Columbia.

For the offense, Ray-Patrick Didder had a two-for-three night with a run, walking once.  Tyler Neslony had another solid game, going two-for-four with a run and a walk.  Justin Ellison had Rome’s other run.  Austin Riley, and Jonathan Morales each had a hit apiece also.
