Warriors down, Phoenix, Jackets stay put in GHSA reclassification

In the latest Georgia High School Association athletics reclassification, two of the county’s three high school’s will remain at AAA, while another moves down to AA.

The Gordon Central Warriors will move back down to the AA level for next year, while Calhoun and Sonoraville remain in the AAA classification.

GC will be in region 7AA with Armuchee, Chattooga, Coosa, Dade County, Model, Pepperell, and Rockmart.

Sonoraville and Calhoun will be part of region 6AAA, along with Adairsville, Bremen, Calhoun, Coahulla Creek, Haralson County, Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe, Murray County, North Murray, and Ringgold.
