The Rome Braves couldn’t get their bats started through the first six innings against the Greenville Drive on Friday night at State Mutual Stadium.
A crowd of over 3,000 got to see the early workings of a no hitter, but unfortunately it was the other team’s pitcher doing the dealing. Rome managed to put a run across in the sixth inning as Carlos Castro scored on an Alejandro Salazar hit.
Going the first 5.2 innings for Rome, Mike Soroka took the loss for the Braves, giving up all three runs.
