Late rally falls short for Power, Rome beats West Virginia 6-5

The Rome Braves made the most of some late insurance runs in their series finale versus West Virginia Tuesday afternoon, but pulled out a 6-5 win over the Power. Rome picked up three runs on three bases-loaded walks in the seventh inning, and needed every one of them to hold on for a nail-biting win.

Rome picked up three runs on three bases-loaded walks in the seventh inning, and needed every one of them to hold on for a nail-biting win.

Touki Toussaint picked up his third win on the year, giving up one run on six hits, in six innings of work.  He walked two, and struck out six.  He gave up one home run in the game.  Devan Watts picked up his second save.

A hot-hitting Austin Riley hit a solo-homer in the game, going 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs.  Darien McLemore went 1-for-4 with two of Rome’s runs.  Justin Ellison, Jonathan Morales, and Carlos Castro each had an RBI apiece.
