A lone run in the fifth inning was all the Rome Braves could manage Thursday night, as starter Max Fried took the loss for his squad in a 9-1 Greensboro win.
It was one run on six hits for the Braves, and nine runs on 12 hits for the Grasshoppers in the game. Fried left with four runs – three earned – on four hits, having struck out three and walked two in the game. Only five Rome batters managed hits, along with two others who reached on walks.
