Starter Max Fried was activated from a stint on the disabled list, but took a 6-1 loss to Hickory Sunday.
Fried gave up five runs on five hits in four innings of work for the Braves. He gave up three home runs, and walked three, while recording two strikeouts.
Oriel Caicedo had three innings of relief, giving up another run to Hickory, also a homer for the Crawdads in the seventh. Matt Custred worked the eighth, and kept Hickory scoreless, but Rome’s bats couldn’t get a spark.
Tyler Neslony scored the only run of the game for the Braves in the third inning on an Anfernee Seymour RBI, his 27th of the season. Only four Rome batters had hits in the game, each with one apiece; Didder, Neslony, Herbert, and Josephina.
