Big sixth inning lifts Columbia past Rome 3-1

Scoreless through five-and-a-half innings, the Fireflies broke the game open with a three run bottom of the sixth Tuesday night to get past the Rome Braves 3-1. After a solid first five innings pitched by Mike Soroka, he couldn’t keep the momentum going into the sixth, and though Dalton Geekie and Taylor Lewis didn’t even allow a hit in relief, the Braves’ offense could only manage a single run in the eighth inning.
