AFL-CIO Deploys First Round of Mail in Georgia Governor’s Race

Third party organizations are beginning to spend their money campaigning for their choice candidates. This week the AFL-CIO sent their first round of mail to union households across the state of Georgia highlighting the labor-endorsed candidate in the race for governor, Stacey Abrams.

“As governor, Stacey will work to create a Georgia where everyone has an opportunity to thrive,” says the mailer. It underscores Stacey’s commitment to working peoples’ issues like defending the right to collectively negotiate a fair return on our work, expanding health care, and protecting public education.

“Working Georgians are looking for real, tangible change, and Stacey Abrams is going to deliver. She is a genuine ally who will fight to create an economy that works for everyone, not just the rich and powerful,” said Charlie Flemming, President of the Georgia AFL-CIO.

“Brian Kemp is disconnected from the needs of working men and women,” said Yvonne Robinson, Secretary Treasurer of the Georgia AFL-CIO. “We deserve an advocate like Stacey Abrams, a proven leader who shares our values and will bring the voices of working people to the Governor’s mansion.”

The mail pieces are just one part of the AFL-CIO’s campaign to elect Stacey Abrams. Across the state, working people are talking to their neighbors and coworkers about the stakes in this election. They’re knocking on doors, making phone calls, and talking at worksites to make sure labor-endorsed candidates, like Stacey Abrams, are elected this November.
