Abrams’ Group ‘Fair Fight’ to Host Press Conference on Filing of Federal Lawsuit

A group formed by former Democratic candidate for Governor Stacey Abrams is set to hold a press conference Tuesday to discuss the filing a federal lawsuit.

Pro Roof GA

Fair Fight, according to a press release, is “an operation that will pursue accountability in Georgia’s elections and integrity in the process of maintaining our voting rolls.” The CEO of the organization is Abrams’ former campaign manager, Lauren Groh-Wargo.

From the release on Tuesday’s press conference:

On Tuesday, November 27th at 11:30 AM, Fair Fight Action will hold a press conference to discuss the federal lawsuit they will be filing that day to address the gross mismanagement of this election and to protect future elections from unconstitutional actions. This lawsuit will have the potential to improve Georgia election administration for decades to come.

The Fair Fight Action team will be joined by the leader of the second organizational plaintiff in the suite, Sen. Nikema Williams, State Director of Georgia Care in Action; along with Georgians who faced undue burdens when trying to cast their ballots during this past election.

Abrams sent out an email Monday afternoon announcing Fair Fight and seeking donations, stating the November General Election was not fair. You can read the email its entirety below.

Friend,

Let me be clear: What happened on November 6th was anything but a free and fair election.

It was not fair to the millions of Georgians who were purged from the voting rolls.

It was not fair to the thousands who were forced to wait in line to vote for two, three, four hours because polling places were underresourced and unprepared. Or worse, to those who had no polling place available to them because more than 300 had been closed down.

It was not fair to the thousands of Georgians who had their voter registrations put on hold, or to those who did not receive their absentee ballots in time – or at all – despite having requested them far in advance.

For eight years, Brian Kemp oversaw the systematic dismantling of our democracy and of voting rights in Georgia. But make no mistake, what happened on November 6th will not happen again.

To that end, I am launching Fair Fight Georgia, an operation that will pursue accountability in Georgia’s elections and integrity in the process of maintaining our voting rolls.

Tomorrow, we will file a major federal lawsuit against the state of Georgia for the gross mismanagement of this election and to protect future elections from unconstitutional actions.

Can I count on your support as we embark on this next phase of our shared mission?

Make a donation to Fair Fight Georgia before we file our lawsuit tomorrow.

Georgia has always been at the center of the fight for civil rights. We have always been willing to stand up and speak truth to power. Now is no different.

We must continue to fight the battles that generations of Georgians before us have waged. We must never lose faith in our own strength.

These votes are our voices. We must win. And with your help, we can.

Sincerely,

Stacey Abrams

    Ms. Abrams,
Several weeks of early voting, a Saturday, and a Sunday is more than enough, and in my opinion, too much time for an educated-on-the-issues voter to cast a ballot. Your Hollywood backing is not what most Georgians want for our state. My family came to Georgia in the early 1800’s, as did many who are primarily now in rural areas, and we don’t want Hollywood or a liberal to run our state. Why not show some respect for those of us whose families have been here for hundreds of years? Run for governor of California and leave Georgia alone. Interesting that Hollywood fought so hard to take over GA after ruining their own state with liberalism. They came here for the tax credits and lower cost of living, after driving their own state’s cost of living and tax burdens to the hilt. My final thought….as a woman I must say I despise all of the “first black woman” rhetoric from your campaign. Voting for someone because they are black or because they are a woman is racist and sexist. I am a woman and I find identity politics disgusting.

My family has also been here for hundreds of years, as have millions of the African Americans’ families who tried to exercise their right to vote, and were not able to. Several rural whites and blacks backed Stacey Abrams, as did people in the suburbs, and in urban areas. Regardless if their family has been here 4 years or 400 years, they’re just as Georgian, and as American as you are, and they have a right to vote. If the voter roll purges, voting machine shortages/4+ hour voting lines, and/or provisional/absentee ballots didn’t directly affect you, please don’t assume that gives you a right to judge others experiences. California has the 6th largest economy in the world, and leads the nation in green job creation, I’d hardly call it ruined. You need to stop blaming the victims, and you need to stop assuming only people who look or think like you are Georgian. We’ve been here, we’re still here, we’re only losing by 1.4% after immense election rigging, so eventual we’re going to win in Georgia. Get use to it.

I agree…I hope that she is never elected for anything, she has a bad attitude and is a sore loser…she was recorded going to vote with a child with her, it was all over the news, but yet, she claimed she had problems voting…what kind of problems? I don’t care if she is black and female, she needs to stop using identity politics, we the voters don’t like it…she never would’ve gotten all the votes she got if it wasn’t mid terms…

Funny how things ran very smoothly for all the years before Stacy Abrams decided to run. Free and fair elections? Since when have they not been free? Yes, there were glitches here and there as with everything using technology these days. All these problems with registering to vote should be corrected, but it is up to the individual to make sure they have the proper documentation, not the registrar. The laws were followed, groups like yours trying to get so many registered at the last minute caused a lot of these problems. If someone wants to register they need to do so way ahead of time to make sure they have all the documentation and receive a voter registration card, that their ID is correct, that they vote early if possible to make sure there are no problems, that their absentee ballot is mailed early and put a track on it to see it is delivered. Make sure you update your address if you move and that your information matches. In my opinion Ms. Abrams was here to stir the pot. All I heard was I am going to change Georgia, change the South and then Change America. Raise my taxes even more by expanding welfare and have me and other hard working Georgians pay for those who do not. We are already overwhelmed as it is. Oprah comes and tells everyone go vote to honor their African ancestors. She has also stated in the past that until all the old white people die out will things get better. Well, if we all die out who is going to help pay the welfare checks for all the people Abrams wants to help? You know, I have lived through Civil Rights, Women’s Rights, Vietnam War, the Sexual Revolution and the decades after and such great change in attitudes and our society. We had come together as Americans and each year was better and more equal. No, things were not perfect, something that is impossible to achieve, but we were working toward being the best we could be. After 911 we were shocked into a new reality of outside attacks which should have united us even more. We have dropped the ball on protecting our Country and have let too many people come in and take over our lives. We need to take our Country back and do what is important for our citizens, but instead, all the infighting and racist comments and insinuations are destroying us. We are destroying America. The rest of the world is just sitting and waiting. I do not care what color you are or if you are a man or a woman. I do care what you stand for and what you will do for me and my family, and also, what you will do to me and my family. Most conservative Georgians feel this way. I do not understand why Stacy Abrams thinks we need so much change here in Georgia. Maybe she needs to curb her radical rebellious rantings and just speak and maybe someone will listen. She lost by a narrow margin, this is true, but in my opinion,a lot of her votes were from people who have moved here from other states or people that were recruited to vote and were concentrated in urban areas. Those areas do need help and change, but maybe those changes need to be back to basics and away from all the liberal ideas that may work in other cities or parts of the country, but not here. One thing that this has done is open up a dialog of how important it is to get out and vote for what you believe in or do not complain. You can file lawsuits and rant and rave all you want and waste more of our money when I feel you can just give Georgia a chance to learn from the things that did not work and correct them and be prepared for the next General Elections.

This lawsuit is a childish move. Give the lady her participation trophy and send her home. It proves that she wasn’t fit to be governor of the state of Georgia, when she is so readily willing to sue. Grow up and stop acting like a child. Be a lady and and politely step back. Just work on getting all those illegal voters legal so you can win next time.

Abrams has wasted enough of the Georgia Tax Payers Money and time. Since we know the DNC Party tried to manipulate voting machines even before the election and signed up “undocumented immigrants” to vote illegally (as well as deceased voters and those who voted multiple times as well as absentee / provisional ballots that were miraculously discover AFTER the legal vote cut-off) , I say they interfered in Georgia’s Elections and I am demanding our Georgia Attorney General investigate, find responsible parties and have them serve 20 years behind bars as Georgia and Federal Law dictates.

INSKEEP: Oh, so you cannot demonstrate, for example, that people were denied registration or their registration was purged and that there were enough of them on your side that you would have won had things been different.

ABRAMS: Well, I would say this – I would speculate that that is true, but we don’t know because of how insidious this behavior has been. And that is why I was willing to acknowledge that the election is over because, given the current state of our laws, this is what is true. But my point is that it was not a fair fight. And that is what we are launching with Fair Fight – a demand that from now on there be no question about the legitimacy of our elections.

I love all of the comments of those who recognize the wrongs thrown at Georgians by Abrams and her campaign. Of course, the media would have most of us believe that we are in the minority. Truth and integrity are values that I support and I hope that the next secretary of state (run-off Dec. 4) will tighten up on the voting laws in this state. Do we really need provisional ballots? Should we be allowing the Democrats to mail out un-requested absentee ballots by the THOUSANDS? If Barrow wins, he will push for illegals to be allowed to vote and it is my understanding that he wants to do away with the requirement to provide voter i.d. This is really messed up! And to Matt Williams, with ALL of the weeks of early voting, claiming “victimhood” at the polling place is pathetic. God did not create victims. If you can’t figure out how to vote properly, you likely aren’t with it enough to vote. And by the way, the 18 year old that Abrams used for her “poor pitiful student” who was turned away by a “southern speaking white woman” is that daughter of 2 Massachusetts activist’s mothers….used as a pawn for the Democrats. Again, pathetic.

Oh please! My sister worked the voter protection hotline, there were hundreds of calls from elderly African Americans who couldn’t wait in line for 4+ hours. What do you say to those folks? This isn’t a “new” problem, Kemp has been sued several times over the past decade for infringing Georgian’s voting rights, and he lost. He pulled a shady stunt, and abused his power as SoS by falsely accusing the GA Democratic Party of hacking without any proof. He even said he was worried about people exercising their right to vote! It’s on a recording! You right wingers can come up with all the false narratives you like but the facts still stand:

      1. Brian Kemp enforced and advocated for an exact match system, and implemented it in an extreme fashion.
People were purged for hyphens, and typos on the part of the government.
      2. Absentee and provisional ballots (even from Georgians who are in the military) weren’t counted b/c of
signature matches. I’m guessing you all are pretty old, but I’m a millennial, and guess what? I don’t sign
things! I make loops on screens b/c that’s the way the world works now. I don’t need some bubba deciding
      whose signatures match.
      3. Brian Kemp was told 4 times by federal judges to stop his shenanigans during the election.
      4. Brian Kemp purged over 1.4 million people from the voting rolls.
      5. Brian Kemp tried to prohibit 53k people from being registered right before the election, most of which were
      African American.
      6. Brian Kemp’s office closed 200+ polling places, mostly in African American communities.
      7. Brian Kemp sued a woman for helping her blind and elderly mother cast a ballot. He lost that fight, b/c it was
      tyrannical.

This isn’t a complete list of his infractions, and it doesn’t even broach the topic of his incompetence. The man owes small business owners hundreds of thousands of dollars, and he oversaw the biggest data breach in governmental history TWICE. It wasn’t even a hack! The moron’s office sent all of our personal info out on CDs. If you all want to try and change the narrative, fine. But we will see your side in court, and some day soon, we will see your side in the minority in Georgia politics. It is inevitable, not matter how hard people like Brian Kemp cheat. Georgia becomes a majority minority state in 2025. Just keep that in mind.

Just another way for her to create “financial hardship”. Go pay off your previous debts and stop forcing Georgians to pay your way. This lawsuit will come out of the pockets of hard working people that live paycheck to paycheck.

please consider that Stacey Abrams group is involved with Black voters matter and I have had my rights infringed upon. I was bullied intimidated and chased to my car by a mob of political activists who I had complained to authorities about for their proximity to the voting place and the campaigning at the voting place. The mob has gone so far as to perjure themselves with a warrant for my arrest and intimidation of witnesses. i have a great story and it has provided me a platform to stand for freedom for ALL of us and to educate about the lies of the leftists.
