More than 357,000 vaccinations given at GEMA/HS Mass Vaccination Sites

The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency closed out operations at the eight mass vaccination sites across Georgia on May 21, after administering 357,668 total doses of Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

“Our goals were to address the vaccination needs of underserved populations that were hardest hit by COVID-19 and jumpstart vaccinations statewide,” said GEMA/HS Director Chris Stallings. “We successfully achieved those goals with the tireless efforts of the entire GEMA/HS team, and local, state, federal and private partners.”

In the final three weeks of operation, the sites began offering Johnson and Johnson single-dose vaccine, and administered a total of 2,731 doses.  The total number of Pfizer vaccines given was 354,937.

The Agency opened its first mass vaccination sites on Feb. 22 in four locations across the state, and expanded vaccine access by adding five additional sites, with the final day of operations being May 21.
