Trion’s 7U team began their voyage to the Super Bowl with a true hero send off as the Sheriff’s Department and Trion Fire Department led the players north to the County Line en route to Chickamauga for the 2015 NGYFL Championship game. Once the team arrived at their destination they went straight to work scoring 40 points and shutting out Ringgold, capping off their perfect 10-0 season.
The Trion Bulldogs 7U team didn’t give up a point in the playoffs. Mason Stancil, Price Wilson, Jaren Boyd, Porter Sentell, Staven Gardner, Noah Gann, Colton Sanford, Gabe Smith, Curt Hambright and Lincoln Hefner are the big guys of the defense. They played perfectly for the last 12 quarters, shutting out their opponents in every playoff game. The most points scored on this defense all season, a mere 7 points.
Bulldog quarterback, Cameron Pritchett had 9 carries for 86 yards and 3 touchdowns. Touchdowns were made also by Bryson Roberts, Christian Henderson and Porter Sentell. Colton Sanford also added 93 yards rushing. This team averaged 35 points points per game of offense.
Pritchett was named MVP.
Calling the plays for the Bulldogs were head coach Coy Hefner, assistants Ben Groce, Daniel Blevins, Derek Smith and Michael Gann.
Head Coach Coy Hefner commented, “these boys have been working hard for over 4 months for this, they are a special group of kids with a ‘hard work pays off attitude’. They are also a very smart group almost half the kids on the team are in the gifted program. We couldn’t do what we do without the parents it was very rare we had any kids miss a practice.”
