Trion High School Competition Cheerleading took home first place two weeks in a row. Trion High School’s cheer team has been on a roll the first two weeks of competitions.
The team took the floor for the first time September 9th at Lafayette High School competing against Coosa High School. Only 12 girls competed instead of the normal 16 due to injuries and other complications, however; the team still came out victorious.
Trion’s Competition team competed again last weekend at Ringgold along with the Chattooga Indians. At this competition the team regained two teammates, competing with 14. The Bulldogs took home the first place trophy again.
Head Coach Hayley Tanner said, “I am super excited and beyond proud of the team for the amazing start to our season! We are looking forward to competing this weekend at Calhoun with our whole team back on the mat!”
“I am so proud of the hard work these girls have been putting in!” said Assistant Coach Josie Pettyjohn. “It has paid off the past two weekends as they have taken first place in both competitions. We are looking forward to what the rest of the season holds!”
Senior Ansley Abernathy said, “I am so proud of this whole team! Winning is amazing but seeing the improvement not only at competitions but every day at practice is what I love. Everyone is so willing to put in the work to be the best they can be, which is what is going to make this season the best yet!”
The team will be back in action again this weekend at Calhoun High School, competing against Armuchee, Chattooga, and Dade. The team will have all 16 teammates back on the mat, hoping to keep improving their score each week.
