Coach Charles Hammon said he was extremely proud of Chattooga’s effort last Friday in the 28-6 loss to Wesleyan: “We played really well 90% of the time, now our challenge is to get that up to 100%.”
As for as the other 10%, “that is what we are using our non-region schedule for is to fix things like that to be ready for region play.”
“We had a great crowd to be so far away and I am thankful for the support that the community shows our kids. This week we travel to 2-0 Heritage. They have a 5-star safety/wide receiver that is a move-in. He is their go to guy. They are a spread team that runs an odd man front. They have a great game night atmosphere and will pack out their stands. If we can take care of the football and eliminate the penalties and mistakes we can win the football game.”
Chattooga running back, Shaun Lester is well on his way to another 1,000+ season. He rushed for 171 yards against Wesleyan scoring one touchdown and recorded his longest run of the season at 52 yards. Against Adairsville Lester had 141 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
