Chattooga Lady Indians softball easily took the win against the Model Blue Devils.
Chattooga got started off in the top of the first after Ally Croy tripled, scoring Addie Veatch.
Heavenleigh Phillips hit a homerun in the first also.
Chattooga scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth. Libby Veatch singled, scoring one run, Croy had an RBI to score a run, Kaymin Calaway doubled to score three runs.
Calaway earned the win for the Lady Indians. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out six and walking three.
Brinley Thomas appeared in relief for the Lady Indians.
Chattooga earned 15 hits in the game.
Addie Veatch set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Chattooga with three hits in five at bats. Calaway drove the middle of the lineup, leading Chattooga with three runs batted in. Thomas, Katie Hogue, and Croy each gained multiple hits for Chattooga.
Chattooga gained the win with a score of 12-6.
Indian Head Coach Jeff Bennett said, “I thought the ladies did a great job tonight! I was very proud of the enthusiasm that we had today when we came out swinging the bat. I do believe every starter had a hit. Our pitching was good and our fielding was good. We made a few mistakes, but I am very proud of the girls, the way that they handled the enthusiasm and where they handled the game today.”
