Chickamauga McDonald’s issued the following statement regarding a food handler was diagnosed with Hepatitis A.
“We have been notified by the Walker County Health Department that one of our employees has become ill, however, the transmission risk to guests and employees who have visited our restaurant is low. At this time, we are fully cooperating with local officials to ensure the health and safety of all our employees and guests. My organization is taking proactive steps in offering to vaccinate all of our employees against hepatitis A. We are 100% committed to providing a clean and safe environment for all who visit our restaurant.”

Mr. Aaron went on to add:
“The health department told us yesterday and we immediately informed out staff yesterday at the Chickamauga McDonald’s and began setting up vaccinations for our staff in an abundance of caution. The sick employee has not worked at Chickamauga McDonald’s since March 17. The health department has been very complimentary of our food safety and food handling practices. They commented that due to our practices, the risk of customers contracting the symptoms is very low.”
