Our very own Chattooga Welding Team competed in Nationals and won 2nd Place. The team consists of Marrion Mosteller, Gavin Jarrett, and William Elrod. The three boys worked together completing their virtual project and submitted their work. In return for the hard work, the boys receive nearly $700-$800 worth of welder tools from Smith Iron Works and Evans Welding and Fabrications.
Mr. Owens stated the boys did a fantastic job in competition and were paid extremely well for their accomplishments. The three boys all had different views on how the competition went. Gavin said, “I am thankful for the opportunity to compete in state along with nationals and thankful for an awesome time,” William stated. “It was a great experience and they faced some challenges along the way with being virtual. I am however honored to represent our Chattooga Tribe and can’t wait until next year.”
Marrion said, “competition was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am grateful for the chance to compete with this team representing Chattooga County. Keep grinding and don’t stop until you reach the top.”
