The Summerville Police Department has released the name of the Kelly Street shooting victim, 51-year old Ronald Moates.
According to an earlier press release from the department, officers arrived at a residence located at 152 Kelly Street in Summerville at about 11 p.m. after getting a call about a domestic dispute.
Officers found a dead man when they arrived who had been shot.

During the night of 12/31/2019 the Summerville Police Department investigated a domestic related shooting at 152 Kelly Street in Summerville. The preliminary investigation revealed that a physical domestic dispute occurred at the residence that culminated in a shooting that left 51 year old Ronald Moates, who lived at the address, dead.
Investigators are continuing to interview individuals about the case and are collecting and reviewing evidence in this case. At this time, no charges have been filed against the shooter, whose name is not being released at present time.
A crime scene technician with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations processed the scene.
The Summerville Police Department interviewed one person following the shooting but no arrests or charges have been made.
On 12/30/2019 shortly after 11:00 p.m. Officers with the Summerville
Police Department responded to a Kelly Street address in Summerville to a reported shooting that began as a domestic dispute. Upon the Officers arrival at the residence they found a deceased male who had been shot. A GBI Crime Scene Tech processed the scene for evidence. The Summerville Police working jointly with the GBI questioned an individual as a result of this shooting and at this time no charges have been filed. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and the deceased individuals name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
