Summerville Class Action Settlement Update: Bottled Water Benefit Extended for Participating Residents

If you signed up for the Summerville Class Action Settlement and have been receiving free bottled water deliveries, there is an update you need to see — and a deadline coming up fast.
The short version: there is money left over in the settlement fund, and that means eligible residents are being offered an additional nine months of free bottled water.

If you signed up for the Summerville Class Action Settlement and have been receiving free bottled water deliveries, check your mail. An important update was sent out July 6, 2026, and many residents across the community could be receiving this notice in the coming days.

The letter, sent from Settlement Administrator Edgar C. Gentle III, contains good news for participating class members who selected the bottled water benefit option.

When the settlement was first implemented, the parties anticipated a larger number of class members would participate. Because fewer people enrolled than expected, a surplus of settlement funds remains available. Rather than let that money sit unused, the settlement administrator is putting it to work for the residents who did sign up.

As a result, eligible class members are being offered an additional nine months of bottled water delivery at no cost. The extension picks up from the anniversary of when each participant first began receiving their water deliveries.

However, there is an important deadline to be aware of. If a class member does not wish to continue receiving the additional nine months of bottled water, they must contact Fontis Water Company by July 27, 2026 to opt out. That number is (678) 494-1981. If no action is taken before that date, the additional nine months of deliveries will automatically continue.

For anyone with questions about their Election Form or the settlement itself, the Settlement Administrator’s office can be reached at (855) 711-2079.

If you signed up for the Summerville Class Action Settlement and have not yet received this letter, it may still be on the way. Keep an eye on your mailbox and take note of the July 27 deadline if the additional water benefit applies to you.
