Update on the crash earlier on Trion Teloga Road from Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader:
“ I can confirm that there were two vehicles involved and a total of four people injured. Unfortunately, two of those were fatally injured and succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Another patient was air lifted to an area medical facility and one was transported via ambulance to a Rome hospital. More information will be released tomorrow after family members have been notified. The Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation.”

UPDATE: From the Georgia State Patrol, “The following are preliminary details as the crash is still under investigation. On Monday, May 9, 2022, at 11:42 am, Troopers from Post 38 Rome responded to a two-vehicle crash on Trion-Teloga Road east of Bankey Farm Road, in Chattooga County. A 2000 Honda Accord was traveling east on Trion-Teloga Road and crossed the centerline, striking a 2002 Chevrolet 2500 pickup, which was traveling west. After impact, the Chevrolet 2500 pickup left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and overturned. The female driver and male passenger of the Honda Accord were pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Chevrolet 2500 pickup was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in critical condition. A female passenger in the Chevrolet 2500 pickup was transported to Atrium Medical Center in Rome, in stable condition.”
