Lindsey Brannen, Ogeechee Technical College’s 2023 Dinah Culbreath Wayne Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) delegate, was honored Thursday by friends, family, and OTC faculty and staff, as she prepares to travel the state leadership conference in Atlanta.
The 2023 EAGLE Leadership Institute, a three-day event held March 1-3, recognizes and honors students who have demonstrated superior achievement in adult education classes and programs, and provides them with sessions to develop leadership skills.
Brannen, a Statesboro native, says getting her GED was a personal goal for her. “It’ll make it easier to get a job,” she said. “It will also make it easier to get into college when I decide to go back.”
Obtaining a GED isn’t the end goal for Brannen, she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business. “My career goal involves opening my own food business. It’ll be a diner and catering business that specializes in southern cuisine,” said Brannen.
The eight EAGLE finalists will be announced on Wednesday, March 1 and the state winner will be announced prior to the conclusion of the institute on Friday.
