GDOT: 04/26-05/01 Ramp & Lane Closure Advisory for the I-16 at I-95 Improvement Projects

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close interstate ramp (I-95 northbound Exit 99A) and lanes on I-16 eastbound and westbound between I-16/I-95 Interchange and Dean Forest Road Interchange (Exit 160). The closures are necessary to accomplish tree removal and barrier wall installation and ramp roadway improvements.

*NOTES: Detour information is shown using red text.

Daytime Closures:

Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations

  • I-16 eastbound from I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160)
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157)

Night Closures:

Monday through Saturday 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations

  • I-16 eastbound from I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160)
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157)

Nighttime Closure and Detour:

11 p.m., Thursday through 5 a.m., Friday

I-95 northbound to I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A) (See Map below)

  • Motorists traveling on I-95 northbound should continue past the I-16/ I-95 Interchange, exit at US Hwy 80 (Exit 102) turn left off the ramp, then turn left to access I-95 southbound, then take the I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A).


Advisory:         Exact time may change due to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
