The Bulloch County Sheriff’s office made the announcement of the arrests of two suspects that are believed to be involved in a string of entering autos and other crimes that date back to at least May 31st. The arrests come after a incident occurring at approximately 4:30 a.m. on the morning of June 12th in the Glen Oaks Neighborhood.
Off Duty Deputy Intervenes
The arrests occurred after off dupty Crime Suppression Sergeant Jim Riggs, confronted the suspects as they attempted to gain entry into a vehicle. This triggered an immediate response and the area was saturated with BCSO Deputies in order to apprehend the suspects.

Jaleon Harden
Jaleon Harden, age 17 of Portal was arrested in the neighborhood shortly after. Another Suspect Artavious Thomas, stole a resident’s vehicle and attempted to flee the scene. He was apprehended on Highway 80 west after crashing following a short pursuit by Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office deputies. The Sheriff’s office is currently searching for a third suspect who is believed to have escaped on foot. Harden and Thomas have been charged with multiple counts of entering autos, weapons charges, and Criminal Gang Activity. Thomas was also charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

Mikaya Oneal
The Sheriff’s department also announced the arrest of Mikaya Oneal, 20 of Statesboro on the charge of theft by receiving stolen property, related to the case.
Status
As of today Shamar Thomas is being held in the Bulloch County Jail on 1 count of entering Auto, and 2 counts of felony probation violation. A check of Jail records does not indicate Jaleon Harden’s current status. Jail Records also indicated that bond has not been set for either Thomas or Oneal.
