Hosted by the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, the most anticipated First Friday event, the annual Holiday Celebration in Downtown Statesboro, is this Friday, December 2, 5:30 – 8:00 pm. This event is sponsored by Vyve Broadband.
Festivities will begin with the lighted Christmas parade down East Main to usher in Santa and Mrs Claus.
Shops will be open and vendors will set up along the sidewalks with local artisans, food, and more. There will also be Mockingbird’s Turf hayride in the Synovus Bank parking lot, a Santa photo booth, and the famous Chili Town cook-off. Winners of the cook-off will be selected in four categories, overall best chili, best restaurant chili, people’s choice, and best decorated booth. Chili Town tickets are $1, with all proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Statesboro and Bulloch County.
Live performances will entertain at the Courthouse, including Cotton Rose School of Dance, Statesboro High School Drama Troupe, Bulloch County Elementary Schools Combined Chorus, Victorian Christmas Carolers, Southern Soarettes, and Georgia Southern- Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity.

Beginning Thursday(2:00 – 8:00 pm), All Fired Up will have their Winter Exhibition and sale, which will also be on Friday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am -2:00 pm. One-of-a-kind ceramics, fine arts, and jewelry will be available for purchase.
