An elementary school in Georgia had to close it doors because of a breakout of the norovirus.
News outlets say Honey Creek Elementary closed Monday because the students were suffering from vomiting and diarrhea, both of which are symptoms of the norovirus.
The apparent outbreak led school officials to contact the Rockdale County Health Department to find out what caused the illness but the school was set to re-open on Tuesday. The virus can spread through food, drink, and essentially any surface, so parents were encouraged to keep their children home from school until they could go 24 hours without symptoms without using medication. Most people recover from virus systems in one or two days.
Infected individuals can easily spread the illness to others through food, drinks, and surfaces.
