Most people thought the political ads and mailers would stop on May 22, but we still have several weeks to go in the primary elections before we know who will face who in the General Election in November.
Voters who chose a party ballot in the May primary must vote for the same party in the runoff. Voters who did not vote in the primary can vote in the runoff for either party.
Early voting will run through July 20 and counties will offer at least one Saturday voting period.
The biggest race on the ballot is the GOP runoff for Governor of Georgia. Lt. Governor Casey Cagle faces Secretary of State Brian Kemp for the opportunity to face Democrat Stacey Abrams in November.
Additionally, the Republican race for Lt. Governor is still undecided. Geoff Duncan and David Shafer are on the ballot in the number two spot. Two candidates vying for Secretary of State – David Belle Isle and Brad Raffensberger- will also be on the ballot.
Several local and General Assembly seats will also be on the ballot around the state. Those looking to find a sample ballot and voting location and visit the Secretary of State’s ‘My Voter Page.’ You can also contact your local Board of Elections office.
