The Chattooga County Republican Party is capitalizing off of important wins in both State and National elections. The monthly meetings have seen an increase in attendance and participation.
Chairman Spencer Hogg told All On Georgia “it is encouraging to see our increasing attendance from month to month. For a county our size to be drawing attention from state wide officials, candidates, and newcomers to the area it is truly impressive. We have made tremendous strides as a party and every meeting we have found opportunity for advancement. We are building momentum and I expect us to continue.”
Guests in September included Public Service Commission candidate, Michelle Miller. Ron Johnson, Jackson County GOP Chairman, a former marine, former state vice chairman, and under 80k county caucus chairman. Bill Davis owner of Tactical Edge Group also spoke to the Party about his recent move from California to Chattooga County. State Representative Eddie Lumsden was also on hand at the meeting.
Ms. Miller explained that the PSC is more than a regulatory agency, adding “we need to be a true financial steward and investor of your money, be your advocate, and be your educator. Energy is more dynamic than our consumption of it. It’s tech can be a money saver, job creator, and tax revenue stimulator. When I think about Chattooga County, I think about how the county can put a CHP unit on your water treatment facility to cut your electricity costs. It can save your town upward of 100,000 a year or more. That money can be used for other much needed services. My grandma use to say that a tree is only as strong as its weakest branch. Rebuilding partnerships between the PSC and every county in Georgia will create a stronger, more prosperous state.”
October’s meeting was held Thursday October 1st. State Senator Jeff Mullis visited the Party and discussed the current presidential race, as well as state wide and local issues and the role he plays in representing the citizens of Chattooga County in the Georgia State Senate. Senator Mullis is currently serving his seventh term in the Senate and is the Chairman of the Rules Committee.
Chairman Hogg announced a new fund raiser for the Chattooga County Pregnancy Resource Center. They are a life affirming institution that provides free services to expecting mothers. The Party members took home empty baby bottles in an effort to make a “change” in the community.
November’s meeting is set for Thursday the 5th at 6pm. The guest speaker will be George Birnbaum, former chief of staff to Israeli Prime Minster Netanyahu. He will be speaking on the Iran Deal.
All meetings are open to the public, and visitors are welcome.
