Bulloch County Board of Commissioners Kick Off The New Year

“New Year – a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately we write it. The choice is ours.”
Alex Morritt

With what some of the more tenured Commissioners called rarely quick, the first regular meeting of the year has been held and adjourned. Led by newly-elected Bulloch County Board of Commissioners Chairman Roy Thompson, the Commissioners kicked off 2017 in great fashion.

The Board held five (5) public hearings, including two conditional use requests, on matters of Planning & Zoning. Some of the projects included a solar panel farm and a venue that would host weddings, among other things, in the very near future. All five requests were unanimously approved.

Chairman Thompson then led in bringing Board Comments, and every Commission brought greetings to start off the new year. The Chairman also asked that all of the subordinate committees begin to submit minutes of their meetings, so that the Board can stay informed on all that continues to go on around the county.

They also welcomed two of the newest members of the leadership team, Commissioner Curt Deal (Seat 2A) and Commissioner Jappy Stringer (Seat 2C), to start the year. Commissioner Stringer was even appointed to the Airport Committee as a first duty.

This will be a very busy year for the Board of Commissioners with several projects underway and soon to be brought forth, but under the leadership of Chairman Thompson and Vice-Chairman Ray Moseley, it will be exciting to join the journey with them. So, here’s to 2017!
