Trion City Schools Achieves Perfect 100% Graduation Rate for Class of 2026

Trion City Schools is celebrating a rare milestone: a perfect 100% graduation rate for the Class of 2026. According to newly released state data, all 99 students in Trion High School’s graduating cohort earned their diplomas, placing Trion among just 6 of Georgia’s 198 school districts, roughly the top 3% statewide, to achieve a flawless graduation rate this year. Trion joins Ware County, Warren County, and neighboring Chickamauga City (Gordon Lee High School) as the only traditional public school districts in the state to hit the mark.

A total of 147 Georgia school districts recorded graduation rates of 90% or higher, and 69 districts recorded rates of 95% or higher. Georgia’s statewide graduation rate has increased by 21.1 percentage points since 2011.

Georgia calculates a four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate as required by federal law. This rate is:

• The number of students who graduate in four years with a regular high school diploma, divided by
• The number of students who form the adjusted cohort for the graduating class

Adjusted Cohort Definition: From the beginning of ninth grade, students who are entering that grade form a cohort that is subsequently adjusted by adding any students who transfer into the cohort during the next three years and subtracting any students who transfer out.
