Trion City Schools (TCS) is celebrating a rare milestone: a perfect 100% graduation rate for the Class of 2026. According to newly released state data, all 99 students in Trion High School’s graduating cohort earned their diplomas, placing Trion among just 6 of Georgia’s 198 school districts, roughly the top 3% statewide, to achieve a flawless graduation rate this year. Trion joins Ware County, Warren County, and neighboring Chickamauga City (Gordon Lee High School) as the only traditional public school districts in the state to hit the mark.
“I could not be prouder of Trion High School for earning a 100% graduation rate this past school year. It is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and the entire school community. According to recent data published by the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia high school seniors set a record-high four-year graduation rate of 88.5% this past year. Trion High School sits well above that statistic by achieving a full 100% graduation rate. This is a tremendous achievement, and it speaks volumes about the standard of excellence our staff and students hold themselves to every single day,” TCS Superintendent Howard Hughes said. “Trion City Schools has long held a rich tradition of making sure that every single student who walks through our doors gets the education, support, resources, and encouragement they need to finish strong. Success is a team effort, and nowhere is that truer than here at Trion City Schools. The 100% graduation rate demonstrates the impact of the entire team’s focus and effort that starts on a child’s very first day in our school system, and it is a direct reflection of our outstanding teachers, administrators, dedicated support staff, involved parents, focused students, and a supportive community who are all dedicated to student success.”
To our students: your determination, focus, and success in attaining this achievement make us all incredibly proud. To our staff, families, and community: thank you for being the foundation that lifts our students year after year.
Our pride in all of you knows no bounds. Go Bulldogs!
A total of 147 Georgia school districts recorded graduation rates of 90% or higher, and 69 districts recorded rates of 95% or higher. Georgia’s statewide graduation rate has increased by 21.1 percentage points since 2011.
Georgia calculates a four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate as required by federal law. This rate is:
- The number of students who graduate in four years with a regular high school diploma, divided by
- The number of students who form the adjusted cohort for the graduating class
Adjusted Cohort Definition: From the beginning of ninth grade, students who are entering that grade form a cohort that is subsequently adjusted by adding any students who transfer into the cohort during the next three years and subtracting any students who transfer out.
