Chattooga County Schools’ official four-year graduation rate for the Class of 2026 stands at 90.2%, higher than the state average of 88.5%.
A total of 147 Georgia school districts recorded graduation rates of 90% or higher, and 69 districts recorded rates of 95% or higher. Georgia’s statewide graduation rate has increased by 21.1 percentage points since 2011.
“Chattooga County Schools is proud to celebrate the Class of 2026 and the district’s four-year graduation rate of more than 90%. This achievement places Chattooga County Schools among 147 school districts across Georgia with a graduation rate of 90% or higher and exceeds the state average of 88.5%,” Superintendent Dr. Michelle Helie said.
“Most importantly, this accomplishment represents the hard work, perseverance, and determination of our students. It also reflects the dedication of the teachers, administrators, and staff at Chattooga High School and throughout our district who have supported these students along the way. We are equally grateful to our families and community partners whose encouragement and support have played an important role in helping our students reach this milestone. We congratulate the Class of 2026 and are proud of what they have accomplished.”
Georgia calculates a four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate as required by federal law. This rate is:
- The number of students who graduate in four years with a regular high school diploma, divided by
- The number of students who form the adjusted cohort for the graduating class
Adjusted Cohort Definition: From the beginning of ninth grade, students who are entering that grade form a cohort that is subsequently adjusted by adding any students who transfer into the cohort during the next three years and subtracting any students who transfer out.
