Linkin Farrar has been selected as Trion High School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Athlete of the Year.

“To be named FCA Athlete of the Year means more to me than any record or championship I could have won,” Farrar said. “I know my faith means a lot to me and my family and this is one of the greatest honors I could receive.”

Farrar, a wide receiver for the Bulldogs was having a record-setting when an injury sidelined him.

“To me my faith means that no matter where I go or what I face I know that God is going to lead me through it and guide me in the right direction,” Farrar said.

Farrar said his favorite scripture is Deuteronomy 28:13, “because it tells me that if I stay true to God I’ll always be ahead.”

When asked about who his role models were as a young Christian man Farrar had this to say: “My role model would have to be my Step-Dad Jim Brooks. He has shown me how to live my life through God and to trust in Him and anything is possible. Another role model for me is Andrew from the Bible. He led many people, including Peter, to Jesus which led to Peter starting the church.”

Farrar has been an active member of FCA for two years.

He is a three sport athlete in football, wrestling and baseball.

Farrar attends Harvest Worship Center in Trion, where he serves on the broadcast team.

Farrar is the son of  Kirk Farrar, Amanda Brooks and Jim Brooks.
