Goat Jumps in Georgia Deputy’s Car During Civil Service Stop

Not kidding around: One deputy got more than she bargained for while serving civil papers.

A Sheriff’s deputy in West Georgia got more than she bargained for during a civil service appointment last week.

It happened in Douglas County, not too far from Atlanta. The female sheriff’s deputy was serving civil papers and left the door of her vehicle open, that was the first point at which the appointment took a turn for the worse.

“Due to the number of houses [the deputy] visits daily, she routinely leaves her vehicle’s door open because she has had to [retreat] on a number of occasions from vicious dogs,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “Never once did she expect or even consider what was about to happen this day!”

The deputy can be heard saying, “I hope that goat don’t get in my car” just before she acknowledges that the goat is, in fact, inside the vehicle. The goat reportedly began chewing papers, knocked over a drink, and charged at the deputy, head butting her. She was knocked to the ground by the goat, but was not injured.

“[Although] she was knocked to the ground she was not physically harmed in the incident,” the sheriff’s office said. “At the end of the day we all got a little laugh out of it and we hope you do as well!”

The entire debacle was captured on body camera footage. You can watch it below.
